My Very Special Mum cushion
As most Heacham people now know, Doreen Reed has entertained many audiences across East Anglia with her homespun amusing poems and tales of nostalgia and everyday life. Later this year she is taking her humour to The Isles of Scilly, a performance she is very much looking forward to.
However, Doreen also writes some serious and meaningful poetry. One such poem “My Very Special Mum” was included in Poet’s Corner on the old Heacham-On-Line site during March 2007. This poem was read by Joy of Heacham Gifts whom liked it very much. With Doreen’s permission Joy has put Doreen’s poem on a cushion cover which can be purchased from Joy’s shop in the High Street, Heacham.
As you can see from the photo, the cushion would make a lovely gift for anyone’s Mum on any occasion, not just Mothering Sunday.
