It has been another busy term for 1st Heacham Scouts who spent an evening discussing Shelterbox, their chosen charity. The Scouts looked at recent disasters where Shelterbox has been able to help, and the sort of aid the charity provides.
Cooking evenings always go well, and this term the 1st Heacham Scouts prepared beef or veggie burgers, and cooked them for themselves. No serious injuries were reported..!
There was a good show for the Sport Relief Mile at Bircham Newton on Sunday 21st March. The Scouts had been training for this in the weeks leading up to it, and will use this towards their Fitness Challenge badges. The Scouts survived the jogging rather better than the Leader! In total the Scouts raised over £250 for this worthy cause; thank you to all our sponsors.
At the end of March 1st Heacham Scouts held a music evening with a live performance from some of the Scouts and friends. As it was their last meeting before Easter, they also squeezed in some egg-themed games, involving a lot off chocolate eggs and a lot of chocolate egg eating. It was Jason’s last evening and we wish him well in the Explorer’s group at Sandringham.
1st Heacham Scouts took part in the St George’s Day parade at Sandringham on 25th April with many fun activities taking place prior to the actual parade. Families were encouraged to attend and support all the groups. If you want to join 1st Heacham Scouts please contact Rob on 01485 572239 and Julz on 01485 572890.
