New Look Heacham-On-Line Launches!

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Launched in March 2010, the new site draws on lessons learned over the years.  All the sections are clearly defined and all share a common look which, we hope, better shows off the strengths and attractions of the village. We’ve tried to create a modern, more colourful site, with plenty of pictures to help guide you around as well as a offer a great showcase for our gifted local and visiting photographers.

In addition, we’ve created a News section where we hope soon to be able to offer local groups like the Lavender Hill Mob and the Lions the ability to post their own news items as they happen! We also hope soon to allow Bed & Breakfasts and Hotels to post details of late accommodation vacancies directly on the site.

Inevitably, the changes mean that many page addresses have changed, so regular visitors’ favourite links may appear to be broken, but we hope you’ll agree that it’s worth the effort of changing them to point to the new website.

Looking slightly further ahead, plans are well advanced to refresh Hunstanton-On-Line in a similar way, and to create further sites for other local villages, with many links between them, further strengthening the value of the sites to the local community and businesses.   Although you may type in the familiar www.heacham-on-line.co.uk address, the top of your web browser shows the pages as www.norfolk-on-line.co.uk/heacham on a daily basis. If you should find any errors (links that go nowhere, pages that don’t appear correctly) we’d be grateful if you could email us with the details, so that we can put them right. Promoting our local area is very much an on-going work and we are striving to learn and improve all the time so your feedback would be helpful.  You can contact us at stella@heacham-on-line.co.uk or heacham@norfolk-on-line.co.uk.

Welcome to Heacham and Hunstanton News!

Welcome to the very first post on Heacham-On-Line’s news blog.

Stories and features (and many old photos) that have appeared on the site in the past will return in a different form at some point.  Going forward such features should appear in this section.  Hopefully I will not be the only contributor to it.

Your new look Heacham-On-Line website has been in the planning for a very long time and brings a fresh new look which is more useful to visitors.   The front page advertisements have been replaced by randomly generated adverts throughout the site rather than just on the front page.  This means that everyone gets a chance to appear rather than a small number.  However, those that have paid to be on the original front page will get 4 x the opportunity to appear in the rotating adverts.  Business sections have been significantly cleaned up and more listings of local businesses are available to make the site an even more useful source of information.  The format for this site will also soon apply to Hunstanton-On-Line.

If you observe any broken links or problems please do let us know as the redevelopment project has been a mammoth task and we may have missed something.
