The annual Mayor’s Awards for Business Achievement ceremony was held at Kings Lynn Town Hall on Friday, 24 February 2012 to salute successful West Norfolk businesses. The event was attended by civic and business leaders and representatives from the companies who were fortunate enough to be short-listed for the honours. Mayor Colin Sampson presided over the event which was organised by West Norfolk Council and supported by the Lynn News, Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services.

Coastal Veterinary Group in Snettisham was awarded the Young Business of the to mark their success in doubling its turnover. This local vet service operates an out-of hours service as standard. Chris Tansley of Coastal Veterinary Group said: “Winning this award is just fabulous really. It’s recognition for all the hard work that my wife, the other nurses, my family and I have put in.”
Cooper Roller Bearings of South Lynn won the Manufacturing Business of the year award. The company now exports more than 80 per cent of its production throughout the world and has invested in an on-site apprentice training centre.
J D Cooling Systems of North Lynn was awarded the Service Business of the Year in recognition of a 20 per cent increase in turnover and profits.
